Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) regulates the development, governance, planning, management and maintenance of Konza Technology City, with the goal of ensuring that Konza grows into a world-class technology hub. KoTDA was established by the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology of the Central Government of Kenya. KoTDA’s Board of Directors balances Government of Kenya representation with private expertise. Collectively, the Board has a strong understanding of real estate development, the international business community, the workings of the Kenyan government, and local issues within Konza.
The Master Development Partner2 (MDP2) team is a consortium of international engineering, design, real estate finance, and marketing consultants retained by KoTDA that provides support and guidance to the authority during this nascent stage. MDP2 will focus on managing the design and construction of the initial mostly publicly-funded Phase 1 infrastructure. The consultant team will market the site, attract private developers and tenants that will fund the vertical development of Phase 1. The team will also provide the necessary capacity building of KoTDA with the objective of turning the authority into a self-sustaining entity that can take the project forward with limited external support in subsequent phases.
